A 12-week coaching program designedto help business owners build the foundations of an energizing business.
Something worth protecting.
Creatingan energizing business starts with a firm foundation. We will create the space and the identitythat will magnify our efforts to create something amazing.
We can’t do anything until we make space. We can’t change anything until we know where we stand. Embracing the constraints serves the dual purpose of giving a starting point and creating a sense of urgency. Let’s make some space for growth.
The identity of the business is what drives everything else. The most effective processes come from having a superior identity, in written form, understood by all, and detailed and action able enough to be useful. Every business has a heartbeat. We want to make it stronger.
Any story worth telling is worth writing down. The processes that bring reality to the identity of your business are the stories of how it succeeds. The difficulty is determining what stories to write, and how to write them effectively. We will learn to do both.
The stories in our business should not be works of fiction or autobiographies. To create processes that work, we are going apply behavioral psychology to create organizational habits.
What you are building.
Nothing can stand without protection. There area lot of factors that pull businesses off course, and most of them…are in our heads. We will find success by mastering our greatest assets.
Every effort, no matter how noble, will have distractions that pull it off course. To distract means literally to "Turn aside", like a magnet. What are the common magnets that pull businesses off course? We will identify them and put strategies in place to reduce their pull.
A business isn’t a business unless it includes human minds. However, our brains often confuse survival and fulfillment. We will discuss cognitive bias, heuristics, dual system thinking. And how to leverage psychology to rise above the rest.
What you have built.
Marketing doesn’t start with advertising. It includes the entire experience. We will leverage psychology again, but this time to create volunteer marketers out of your customers.
Often the conversations we want customers to have don’t get far. Based on research by professors and practitioners in marketing, we will use "Operational Marketing" and other tools to get a chain of conversations to continue beyond the first link.
Advertising is useful, but it is also artificial. Like a cup of coffee, it doesn’t provide much on its own, but stimulates the use of existing ability. It shouldn’t be a crutch. We will discover how to use advertising as a stimulant rather than as a source of nutrition.
